MARC SARREAU : “Not very far from victory”
“It was not an easy day; we knew that the course would be very tiring and the race would never offer a respite. The start of the season had been difficult for me, but then I feel since the Volta ao Algarve I have been going better. Today, just like in Portugal, we had a super team effort and I see that I am not very far from the victory. That makes it more fun. I will head now on Sunday to the Tro Bro Leon and then the Boucles de la Mayenne with pretty much the same group of teammates. It makes you want to do better!”MARC
Second of the Circuit de Wallonie, Marc Sarreau posted his second podium of the season after having taken 3rd at the Roue Tourangelle.
Bouchard at the front of the race
“Geoffrey Bouchard was in the breakaway for much of the 6th stage of the Giro d’Italia. He gained many points in the classification for the King of the Mountains, which slots him into second place in that competition: “It was not necessarily the objective of the day to score points on the climbs. On that last climb, I was just frozen and so was dropped. The descent was then just really difficult with the rain and the cold.”
