The number

15

After the 19th stage of La Vuelta a Espana, Geoffrey Bouchard is 15th in the general classification. Clément Champoussin is sitting in 17th place. Clément Venturini finished 18th and Damien Touzé spent much of the day in the breakaway.
“It was important to put riders up front. The pace was very fast all day. The breakaway had to work hard, and only the strongest stayed ahead of the peloton till the finish. We suspected, but he was missing a bit in the end. This just proves once again that there are possibilities to win a stage by getting into the breakaways,” said Didier Jannel, directeur sportif of the AG2R CITROËN TEAM.

The news

Oliver Naesen 10th on stage 5

Oliver Naesen finished 10th in the 5th stage of the Benelux Tour.
“The goal was not to lose time. Even if I am a bit behind the first riders in the GC, I know that anything is possible on the last day for the overall. Since I felt strong, I wanted to do a good sprint. There was a small break 500 meters from the finish, which forced me to launch my sprint from a distance. I had strength to do it, so that’s good. Tomorrow’s stage scares me a little, we’ll see how it goes. I am definitely looking forward to Sunday’s,” says Oliver Naesen.
He is 19th overall, 1’02’’ behind leader Stefan Küng.
