Stage 2 of the Etoile de Bessèges: Clement Venturini 2nd

Clement Venturini : “Always good to try.”

“Even if I was not far off the win, I am staying very positive about this stage. It is only my second day of racing for the season, and I am close to the victory. It’s better than nothing and always good to try. Today, I probably started from too far out, but Laporte was also just very strong. I am in a good situation, and I hope that things will continue like this. Tomorrow the stage looks a bit harder and it suits me well. It should end in a sprint, so we should try again as we did today.”

Having taken 2nd for this second stage at the Etoile de Bessèges, Clement Venturini notches up his first podium of the road season for the AG2R LA MONDIALE team.

Julien Duval at the front in Valencia

Julien Duval spent a day at the front during the third stage of the Volta at the Comunitat Valenciana.
Unfortunately, the escape group was caught at the foot of the last climb. "It was a big day in the saddle with more than 3000 meters of altitude difference. I am in Spain to get into a rhythm with Oliver and to try my legs at the front with a view towards the classics, which are coming very quickly. I am a bit of a “diesel” and need some races in the legs before I can start to do well.”
