Broken left collarbone for Axel Domont and Silvan Dillier

We had two riders crash and break a collarbone each today, one during the 2nd stage of the Vuelta a Espana and one during the Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne. Axel Domont had tests done at the Pamplona hospital which revealed a fractured left collarbone, says Thomas Klimaschka, team doctor for AG2R LA MONDIALE.
The Vuelta is the last race of Axel’s career, which he started with the AG2R LA MONDIALE team in 2013. “The team are off to a difficult start at the Vuelta a Espana with two retirements on stage 1 and now Axel Domont crashing out today. We all are thinking a lot about Axel, especially since he wanted to be an animator for many of the different stages and to help the team overall. The team remains committed to fulfilling the initial objective of taking a stage victory.” said Stéphane Goubert, sports director.

Silvan Dillier crashed in the last Belgian event of the season, Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne. He has a broken left collarbone.

Ahead of the 18th stage of the Giro between Pinzolo and Laghi di Cancano which will include the ascent of the Stelvio (2746 meters), Aurélien Paret-Peintre is 19th overall, just ahead of Larry Warbasse. In Madonna di Campiglio, our riders received the trophy for being the best team of the 17th stage.
