Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenges (June 8th)

Clément Champoussin : « Have fun on the bike »

« I’m glad to get back to racing. Having had to abandon the Giro d’Italia was a big disappointment. I had arrived at that Grand Tour with very different ambitions.
My main goal at the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenges will be to have fun on the bike and help my AG2R CITROËN teammates. I have never actually climbed Mont Ventoux. It will be a double chance to see what it’s like since we will climb it twice! After leaving the Giro, I took a few days off the bike to rest, so this race will give me a great chance to gauge how I’m feeling. Following the race at Mont Ventoux, I will string together the types of events that will help me prepare for the rest of the season and improve my form. »Clément

Lilian Calmejane will return to racing at the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenges. He has not raced for 84 days since the last stage of Tirreno Adriatico.
“I cannot wait to get back with my teammates. This is the first time in my career that I have had to take such a long mid-season break. My physical condition is not 100% but I am motivated. I am continuing my preparation and am gaining strength for the summer. There is a lot of the season to go, and there are still great races to target,” Lilian Calmejane said.
