Tour de Vendée (October 6th)

BENOIT COSNEFROY : “First think of the race”

“On Sunday, I finished my first Elite World Championship. I finished frozen, but I finished. I have now resumed training, and I feel that I have recovered well.
For this coming Sunday, I will not be focusing on the Coupe de France. First I want to think about the race, to try to get another victory, and then we will think about the general classification for the Coupe de France afterwards. The goal of winning this trophy actually appeared only quite late in the season, so I won’t put too much pressure on myself before the race. I want to have fun ahead of closing what has been a beautiful season.”BENOIT COSNEFROY

Currently second in the individual classification, Benoît Cosnefroy is 11 points behind Marc Sarreau. This season, Cosnefroy has won three rounds of the Coupe de France by taking the victories at Paris-Camembert, the Grand Prix Plumelec and at the Polynormande. Samuel Dumoulin is the last AG2R LA MONDIALE rider to have won the Coupe de France, which he did most recently in 2016.

Winner of the teams classification

AG2R LA MONDIALE, leader since June 2nd, when Alexis Gougeard took the victory at the Boucles de l'Aulne, is assured of winning the Coupe de France team classification.
