Tour du Haut Var (3rd stage): Romain Bardet 2nd

Romain Bardet : « Satisfied with my return to racing. »

2nd in the stage, 2nd on the general classification
“For a return to racing, I am satisfied. I was competing against guys who were a little sharper. I still have to get back into the rhythm. It would have been the icing on the cake to have won, but I really came with no particular expectations. The team worked very well; there was no downtime. Saturday was a big stage, and there were 15 very intense minutes today. It was definitely what we needed. I have not raced since early October, and I am feeling the lack of competition now, but I am happy with these three days.”

Alexis Vuillermoz finished in 5th place for today’s stage. He moved up to 4th place overall. "Saturday, I got a little stuck. I really wanted to show that I had a lot of punch. So I set the tempo for Romain. Now today, the legs have responded well. This bodes well for the future," Alexis Vuillermoz explained. Alexandre Geniez finished 8th and ans Peters 10th for the stage.
