AG2R LA MONDIALE, Citroën and Vincent LAVENU, Pro cycling team manager, have encouraged adherence to the ethical rules of the Mouvement Pour un Cyclisme Crédible (MPCC) ever since the organisation was set up.
Vincent LAVENU, aided by his management team (sports managers, doctors, nutritionists, trainers, psychologist, physiotherapists), takes all possible measures and precautions to ensure that riders comply with sporting rules that are based on exemplary ethics.
The AG2R CITROËN TEAM is a founding member of the MPCC, set up in July 2007.
AG2R LA MONDIALE and Citroën are also members as a sponsor.
The MPCC’s ethical code not only respects the UCI code of conduct and the rules drawn up by the World Anti-Doping Agency, but goes further still, with even more stringent rules.
In particular, these include:
- Withdrawal of a rider the moment a positive result is received for a race
- Non-participation of a rider involved in a doping case and who has been punished with more than six months in the two years following suspension
- Legal action against any positive rider for damage to the team’s image
- Actions to combat the use of noxious or doping substances as the corticoids: within this framework, validation of local infiltration of corticoids by the doctor responsible for the team is required and he has to order eight days’ minimum stoppage, competition included
- The team must carry out its own internal investigation when faced with several cases of positivity or inaptitudes.
- A concomitant fight against technology fraud which is considered by the MPCC as a positive control, and leads to the same consequences
- Additional random blood anti-doping controls are performed
